Sneezies- Contagious and Cute at the Same Time

Posted by andyl19 on March 2, 2009

Sneezies is one of the cutest games ever for the iPhone and iPod touch device. I mean just look at the icon and you’ll find out what I’m talking about. Those adorable and fluffy creatures will surely take you over to the soft and cuddly side.

Not only is Sneezies a cute game, it has pretty good darn gameplay. Your main objective is to try to eliminate as many Sneezies in bubbles by using magical sneezing powder. Touch one of the floating Sneezies to make it sneeze and it will trigger a chain reaction and remove all the close by Sneezies around it. When you eliminate Sneezies they make a very cute “achoo”! sound. You be amazed of the marvelous chains you can start.

There are two gameplay modes in Sneezies: Classic and Challenge. Classic mode has 45 levels, each getting a little harder every time and Challenge mode has 15. Every level will have a goal of how many Sneezies you need to pop. If you don’t reach the goal you’ll still be able to move on to other levels.

The sounds, music, and graphics are gorgeous and beautiful. The sound effects will make you smile every time and the music is very soothing and tranquil. They will ease your pains and will take you to a world full of fun and cuteness. There are many backgrounds you can play in Sneezies, like a snowy one and a fall themed one.

Overall Sneezies is a superb game to burn a couple hours out of your day. I know some people out there are like” Why should I get this, it will embarrass my manliness”! You won’t care what people think of your manliness once you start playing this. Sneezies is addicting as crack and a game that will overwhelm you with it’s cutness. Great job Antair Games for making this game that outshines many quality games and Chillingo for publishing Sneezies!

Scoops- Ice Cream Goodness

Posted by andyl19 on February 19, 2009

Scoops is one of those perfect games if you only have a minute or to play when your on the crapper:) It is probably the best kids game out there, so people that have children, this is a game that will amuse them. Anyway I hope you enjoy my review of Scoops by Ian Marsh.

scoops-018The gameplay is so simple in Scoops but it’s still a whole lot of fun. You have an ice cream cone and try to catch as many ice cream scoops falling from the sky. You move the ice cream cone by tilting your device side to side. Every ice cream cone you miss, you lose a couple of points. There are also purple scoops with stars. Every one you get gets you an extra life. When you start out a game you begin with 3 lifes. If you manage to get scoops with the same color in a row you will get bonus points.

But the one thing you have to watch out are the veggies!! Make sure they don’t fall on your cone or you’ll will lose a life. The higher up you get the faster the scoops will fall and the more wobbly your tower of ice cream will get. You can be able to stack higher than the moon and other various planets. If the veggies manage to fall on your cone until you run out of lives, the game will be over and your score will be saved.

If your really have good reflexes and hand eye coordination, you’ll probably be able to make Scoop’s daily world wide leaderboard. Also you can view your own high scores and local scores.

I see no reason you shouldn’t have this game. It’s addicting, fast placed, and a real time killer. Adults and children of all ages will get a kick out of playing this while trying to get a higher score than each other. And it has ice cream in it! Who doesn’t like ice cream!? So definitely consider getting this for the small price of 1.99 as it’s another gem by Ian Marsh. 4.5 stars out of 5*****

A great word game- Wurdle

Posted by andyl19 on February 18, 2009

In my book Wurdle is one of the top word games along with Scrabble, Wordsworth, and Textropolis. Now people would say that word games are not fun and that they are hard, but Wurdle is the opposite of that, fun and very easy.

The gameplay in Wurdle is very simple. You try to find as many words as you can before the time runs out. You do so by tracing the word with your finger. The good thing about this game is that you don’t just find words that go vertical or horizontal, but you can go all over the board to find a word.

Wurdle allows you to customize the board and background however you want. You can choose from many tiles like blue and orange and backgrounds like a white sheet of crumpled paper or your own uploaded picture. There also is a way to change the size of the game board. You can either choose 4×4, 5×5, 6×6, 7×7, or 8×8.

Not only does wurdle have a timed mode, there also is an untimed mode!! So you can sit back, relax, have a nice drink and play wurdle all at the same time! Ever stuck and can’t find a word? Then just shake your iPhone or iPod to scramble the words. But this will result in you losing a couple of points if you do so. If your really good at finding words your name might just be on the high score leaderboard for Wurdle.

Overall I have to say Wurdle is a fun, relaxing, and also a fast paced game. It’s very addictive, beautifully designed, and sure to hook anyone in. So many options really make this game outstanding and brilliant. Be sure to have this one if your a word freak. 5 stars*****

WordsWorth Review

Posted by carolynn7 on February 16, 2009

For my second review, I’m going to talk about a game called WordsWorth. By it’s title, you would probably gather that it’s a word game. Now, I’m a puzzle game freak and my word game collection consists of very few games.
But WordsWorth will change your mind about word games. It’s brought to you by the fine folks at 99 Games Inc.

Game play is simple; trace the letters that make a word or touch each letter individually and press submit. The
screen will show you as you trace if you have created a word or not. (That’s great for finding those obscure words
you didn’t think existed) When you’ve reached a certain score, you go to the next level. There are various helper
tiles that appear during the game. There is also a red tile that is a timer. If you don’t use it before time runs out,
it’s game over. Now there are two game modes, Classic and Timed. In Classic mode your game ends when a timer tile’s
clock runs out. In timed mode, you have a certain amount of time to finish the level. If time runs out, well, you know
what happens.

What’s great about this game is that you can customize it in all sorts of ways. You can make the board bigger,
change dictionaries (They use TWL, SOWPODS, and ENABLE), adjust the minimum word size, and change the background and sound effect settings. There are lots of extras; Wild tiles, Bonus Point tiles, shuffle tiles and additional shuffles in the game to help you when you are hopelessly stuck. It also saves your current game for those times when you need to do something important. All these features make this game very replayable. You can make it as easy or as hard as you are in the mood for. I find the music very relaxing. The graphics are highly polished and you can tell a lot of work has been put into this game.
What’s not so great: Of course I’d like to see a global scoreboard, because who doesn’t like to compete for the best
score in the game? I’d also like to see a word list added so you can see what words you played, or a best word page
on the scoreboard listing highest scoring words, etc. The music is nice, but it can get repetitive. I’d like to see a
variety of music added.

All in all, I rate this game 5 of 5 stars. It’s addictive, has endless replayability and will change your mind about word
games. The developers are always working on updates and listen to suggestions to make this game even better. If you
don’t have it yet, what are you waiting for? It’s currently available in the App Store for $1.99

Arcade Hoops- Reviewed!

Posted by andyl19 on February 11, 2009

Remember when you went to arcades and played that basketball game to get tickets? Well now you don’t have to go to the arcades, it’s on your iPhone! Arcade Hoops is a sports game that you try to score as many points as possible by flicking the basketball into the hoop. All you need for this game is a fast finger and good hand-eye coordination.

There are two modes in Arcade Hoops. Classsic and Progressive. In Classic mode you have 45 seconds to try to hit as many shots as you can. In Progressive you have more time, 99 seconds, but the basket will move farther away every time. When the basket is the farthest away, it is a three point shot. Three point shots will help you get more points faster but they are the hardest shot to make.

The music and sounds in Arcade Hoops are very catchy. There are three different soundtracks for it, all very like the music you would here in a regular arcade. The sounds are very realistic like a basketball ricocheting off the rim, the clock beeping and winding down to zero, and a swish of the net. You will also see words at the top flash by as they say things like swish, air ball, and hot shot when you swish a shot, air ball a shot, or make consecutive shots.

Overall Arcade Hoops is rocking, addicting, slick, easy to play, and thrilling with high speed game play. This is one of the best basketball games out there and a must buy for all you hoopsters. I rate it a perfect 5/5 with 5 Stars*****
